The Karickhoff Laser Lens
directs the laser beam to various

  • Laser disruption of a floater was performed on Dr. Karickhoff's eye.
  • Dr. Karickhoff has performed floater disruption laser surgery since Feb. 1, 1990.
  • To our knowledge Dr. Karickhoff is the only doctor who has the proper equipment and regularly performs laser floater disruption in the surrounding 10 state area.
  • He was the discoverer of the cause and the laser surgical treatment of pigmentary glaucoma in April 1992.
  • He designed what was the world's top selling contact Laser Lens for directing laser surgical beams into the back of the eye.
  • Dr. Karickhoff has designed the only contact lens for treatment of non-central floaters. This prismatic lens allows better viewing and aiming for these more difficult floaters.
  • He introduced the laser treatment of acute glaucoma to Northern Virginia by performing the first such case in March 1977.
  • He introduced the laser treatment of chronic glaucoma to Northern Virginia by performing the first such case in June 1981.
  • He performed one of the first retinal and first cataract membrane operations with a laser in Northern Virginia.
  • He has performed laser eye surgery research and published some of his techniques nationally.
  • His office is one of the few containing both types of eye surgery lasers.
