Dr Corrales attended medical school in his native country of Honduras. Early in his studies he was exposed to the life-changing field of ophthalmology as he observed his mother perform eye surgery to return vision to her patients. After medical school, he did his ophthalmology residency at the University of Pittsburgh and a fellowship in Cornea and Complex Cataract Surgery at New York Eye and Ear Infirmary. He is affiliated with Johns Hopkins University and Sibley Hospital in Washington DC. Dr Corrales is actively involved in clinical research and he frequently travels to remote areas of the world to perform free eye surgery. In his spare time he enjoys growing food, fermenting and outdoor activities.
